DIRECTOR'S REPORT

Ms. Tiffany Eichorst provided the Board with the following information:

  • Duck Lake Update:

Meeting with Farmer's Home/Rural Development Authority On Tuesday, March 21 st at 10:00 A.M. They have a 4.5%, 40-year term loan available.

DLZ should have a pre-final set of drawings for Mr. Randolph to review by the end of next week.

Met with the Citizen Involvement Committee last week and they came up with a water softener survey to send out to residents around the lake. The Involvement Committee seems to be happy with the project plans so far.

Dennis met with the Inter-County Drainage Board last week; he said that the meeting went well. Blaine VanSickle asked to see the final plans when CCBPW receives them. After Blaine reviews the plans and makes comments we should be able to go ahead with the project.

  • Greater Battle Creek Area Watershed Management Committee (GBCAWMC)

We recently submitted the Storm Water Pollution Prevention Initiative (SWPPI) to the Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ). The DEQ is overloaded with paperwork at this time so we are still waiting to receive their comments regarding this document.

The GBCAWMC has complied a Memorandum of Understanding as well as a budget for the group.

Working on the following Public Education Events:

  • Super Soils Test Saturday
  • Photo Contest
  • Children's Water Festival
  • Global Citizen's River Conservation Day
