NEW BUSINESS
Moved by Commissioner Travis and supported by Commissioner Monaweck to approve the Community Compost Center Two-Year Agreement between Calhoun County; City of Marshall; Calhoun County Board of Road Commission; Calhoun County Board of Public Works. Mr. Randolph stated that there has been some talk at the Solid Waste Committee about pulling this program; but it is on Road Commission property and we get a lot less roadside trash since this program has been in operation. Tiffany Eichorst said the concern was about spending more than they receive in revenue; but the agreement is for two years and the landfill revenue will be up this year. We need to advertise more to inform the county residents that it is available to them; not just Marshall City residents. Voice vote: Motion carried.
OTHER BUSINESS
Dennis Randolph reported that he has asked Lansing for a Duck Lake project meeting. They are continuing ground water testing.
Tom Frank, Albion Township Supervisor, said the Compost Center was pretty nice, a well managed place.
The next regular meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, February 16, 2005 immediately following the 9:00 a.m. Board of Road Commission meeting.
There being no additional business before the Board, the meeting was adjourned at 10:04 a.m. |
