Meeting Minutes

The regular meeting of the Board of Park Trustees of the County of Calhoun was held Wednesday, August 3, 2005 in their office located at 13300 Fifteen Mile Road, Marshall, Michigan.

Present:

• Commissioner Charles E. Monaweck, Chairperson
• Commissioner Chester E. Travis, Vice-Chairperson
• Commissioner David D. Veramay, Member
• Dennis A. Randolph, Managing Director
• Joanna I. Johnson, Assistant Managing Director - Board Clerk
• Pixie Coats, Human Resource Director - Deputy Clerk
• Also Present: Tom Frank, Albion Township Supervisor
• Robert Brownell, Marengo Township Supervisor
• Joseph Bramble, Convis Township Resident
• Gardy Berezonsky, Marengo Township Resident
• Annette Chapman, Calhoun County Parks and Recreation Director

Chairperson Monaweck called the meeting to order at 10:16 am. He stated that there being no additions or corrections to the regular meeting minutes of July 6, 2005 they stand approved as printed and distributed.

OTHER BUSINESS

Mrs. Chapman reported:

•  She stated that the bid openings for Wattles Road was August 18, 2005

•  There was some vandalism with the Disc Golf Course at Kimble Pines.

•  She stated that they had a nice article in the paper on the Springfield Disc Golf Course. They mentioned that we helped them design it.

•  She said that in Leroy Township, at Graham Lake they have a park that they are writing a proposal for to help them maintain it.

•  She said that Kent County is having budget cuts and the Parks Director is doing a study on other County budgets and will send us the results of the study.

•  She stated that on August 14, 2005, the car club will be holding a birthday party for one of their members at the Bridge Park and will have all of the old cars there. She said that she may ask them to come and bring the old cars when they have their yearly Bridge Park demonstration.

Commissioner Monaweck stated that he thought Annette Chapman was doing a nice job.

Chairperson Monaweck announced that the next regular meeting of the Board of Park Trustees is scheduled for Wednesday, September 7, 2005 immediately following the 9:00 a.m. Calhoun County Board of Road Commission meeting. There being no additional business before the Board, the meeting was adjourned at 10:25 a.m.
