Meeting Minutes

The regular meeting of the Board of Park Trustees of the County of Calhoun was held Wednesday, March 2, 2005 in their office located at 13300 Fifteen Mile Road, Marshall, Michigan.

Present: Commissioner Charles E. Monaweck, Chairperson
Commissioner Chester E. Travis, Vice-Chairperson
Commissioner David D. Veramay, Member
Dennis A. Randolph, Managing Director
Carole S. Tabiadon, Deputy Managing Director – Clerk
Pixie Coats, Human Resource Manager

Also Present: Tom Frank, Albion Township Supervisor
Eugene Hamaker, Marshall Township Supervisor
Joseph Bramble, Convis Township Resident
Annette Chapman, Calhoun County Parks & Recreation Director

Chairperson Monaweck called the meeting to order at 10:00 am. He stated that there being no additions or corrections to the regular meeting minutes of February 2, 2005 they stand approved as printed and distributed.

PARKS AND RECREATION DIRECTOR’S REPORT

Mrs. Annette Chapman reported:

· She received the final plans for the Wattles Road Bike Lane from Wilcox. They are trying to secure the permit. The MDOT TSC wants the intersection reworked differently than our plans show. Our funding does not allow for those changes; she is awaiting further word from the TSC.

· The crane work on the bridge did not receive any bids, so she can pick her own company, per MDOT.

· She is going to the Calhoun Area Technical Center to promote the bridge building contest for the Historic Bridge Park open house on June 25th.

· She has received extra funds for the I-69 Heritage Route for a consultant to assist with the project.

· The Battle Creek Enquirer & News had articles regarding Battle Creek City bike routes. We have been invited to participate with planning those.

Dennis Randolph said that he met with Homer Village and they will cost share the paving of shoulders on 24 Mile Road; then mark them as a bike lane.

Chairperson Monaweck announced that the next regular meeting of the Board of Park Trustees is scheduled for Wednesday, April 6, 2005 immediately following the 9:00 a.m. Calhoun County Board of Road Commission meeting. There being no additional business before the Board, the meeting was adjourned at 10:15 a.m.
